Very True Wayne and Thanks for sharing your views. This is infact a complete process which involves series of steps right from introspection to execution. I hope your model must be capturing the essence of it.

Very good article on goal setting. Two observations that I've noticed from my 10 plus years of providing strategic planning/goal setting for private industry and individuals is that

a)Many people from all walks of life don't really know what they want out of life or their goals. I receive responses (to achieve world peace OR an "abundant lifestyle" but what does that look like and mean? More importantly how do you develop your client a road map to help get him/her there?

b) Secondly even if your client does know what they want re. their goals-there is such a disconnect between "wanting" and "believing" in themselves to make it happen. Anybody can write down their goals on paper-but what percent will actually achieve their goals?

This is where more work needs to be done. Because of this fact, several years ago I developed the ICPRA (Idealize, Conceptualize, Prioritize, Realize & Actualize) Model for goal-setting. ICPRA moves oves clients through various stages in helping them not only understand the overall goal setting process-but more importantly-instills in the client to have the faith and belief in themselves to actually make the needed and necessary changes in their lives to live a more fulfilled life.

All the Best-
