The Best Blogging Advice Ever

When I started blogging 2.5 years back in a blogger/blogspot account it was more of for fun. Few posts and I had a medium where I could express myself clearly. I hooked some adsense here and there without any knowledge of what placement could actually mean. My posts frequency depended on my mood and my blog was not going anywhere. Most of stuff was something I felt strong about and there was no niche for my blog. Then I got attracted to the money part of blogging. My main source of revenue was paid posting and I was penalized by google for it too. It made me few bucks but the income was not automated. I had to write to earn and adsense was making me pennies. It was during this timeframe the revelation of best blogging advice came in front of me.

Slowly and steadily I was realizing the true potential of blogging both from content and revenue standpoint. Couple of good posts connected me to some real people and some changes in ad placement started to make me money. It was in this time I started to think seriously about blogging and Mystic Madness came into being in March 2009. During first few months I studied a lot about everything from html codes to SEO. My posting frequency was down mainly because I wanted to be sure before making any move. Also I was looking for niche that had the potential to bring the best of me. It was tough time but I never gave up.

Blogging can have two broad purposes-

1) It provides you a platform and gives you a face in this big world

2) It has potential to make you money

For bloggers both the parts are very important mainly because each part has the potential to boost other part

1) Good work brings you traffic

2) Traffic has the potential to make money

3) Money made can then be re-invested to increase more traffic.

People who are serious about blogging know these parts very clearly. I am sure every blogger understand how important traffic is and how difficult it is to make it happen for you.

The lure of traffic created another rat race

1) People started to write indiscriminately about any topic

2) More pages meant more traffic

3) Quality in effect went for spin

And this resulted in

1) More effort on daily basis

2) Slow or no increase in traffic

3) less income

People knew that they had to write but they never knew what to write that could bring them more traffic.

It happened with me and I am sure it is happening with most of other bloggers even now. It is in this scenario the best blogging advice came into picture.

The best blogging advice I would ever like to give to bloggers says

1) Write content that is timeless

2) Write content that people lookout for in search engines

3) Write regularly without fail in your niche

When you write content that is timeless it becomes eternal. Blog post like “How to impress your boss” never gets stale like daily sports or political news. It becomes an asset of your blog.

What people lookout for is the traffic search engine brings to your blog. So instead of writing “different examples of recreation for professionals” one should write “Types of Recreation for Professionals” because this is something that people look out for and it brings traffic.

Writing regularly makes you look good in eyes of content hungry search engines. Sooner or later you would find yourself at top of search results.

I tried this towards the end of last year and

1) My traffic got more than doubled

2) The Bounce rate is less that 1%

3) My revenue increased too.

SEO, cpm, cpr, blog look and feel, pictures etc. are many other areas one can surely work on. But good content is the soul that makes you sell. And you should know what people buy.

Sell what people buy or lookout for. Write what people would like to give a look. And success would slowly start to come.

Being serious about blogging and not getting eager for success has somehow kept me sane in this journey. Writing each day has slowly made me write more and with less difficulty. I have started to enjoy this journey and more than that my monthly targets. This is something I can do after my job and gives me a nice feeling that I am building something of my own. Something that I love to write about and has the potential to automate my income in years to come. My personal Best Blogging Advice.
