Coping With Stress Strategies

To succeed in life you need at least one decent and reliable strategy. Basically everything you do is to land the ultimate thing: happiness. And happiness is a very hard thing to come by. So your winning strategy would be to try to keep misery as far away from you as possible. Also, you should try to throw away all those negative emotions that consume you and stand between you and sipping the sweet nectar of happiness. All that frustration and anger and all that anxiety and insecurity have got to go. A big component and a huge reason for all these damaging feelings is stress. That’s why one of the first things you have to learn in life is coping with stress strategy. Of course you might say, and pretty rightly, that stress is inevitable. Don’t be a fool and don’t believe that just because stress has to be a part of our daily life that automatically means that you can’t control it. Follow these following easy steps to see if you can keep the grips and eventually reduce your stress levels.

1.      Identify the things which cause stress and start a stress diary. To find some perfect coping with stress strategies you need to start being honest to yourself and point out the things which are causing you the stress. You should make sure that you write down the people and situations that make you feel nervous and on the edge. Next, you could try to describe your state – how exactly you feel, how much it usually lasts and what are your natural instincts for getting out of it. Some typical causes for stress are deadlines or exams, things that tend to put a lot of pressure on you. Some symptoms might include sweaty palms and disorientation and even grumpiness can be classified as stress related.

2.      Know your true capacity and admit your limits. Say no once in a while – it’s refreshing. This is a pretty basic piece of advice. Don’t sign up for more than you can actually see through. Don’t offer and don’t accept more assignments you are sure you can actually handle. If it’s not your responsibility and you know you have too much on your plate already, don’t offer to pitch in. Being selfish is sometimes the savior of your piece of mind.

3.      Maintain a healthy lifestyle. It’s one of the most effective coping with stress strategies. Make sure you get enough sleep at night. Try to leave your work problems at the office. Get some cardio and practice some sports as often as you can and eat plenty of foods which contain antioxidants and omega 3 fatty acids. You know what the ancient Romans used to promote in their day: A healthy mind in a healthy body. Well, I guarantee that if you follow all the guidelines exposed in at this point you will surely surpass your stress easier.

4.      Keep an open mind and a positive perspective on things. You should always start any new experience thinking positive, reassuring thoughts. For example, have confidence that you are capable, that you are qualified and that you possess a strong set of values. Have faith that you are adaptable and sociable. If you persist and repeat these things to yourself, you will gain a confidence not easily breakable and you will develop a thicker skin when it comes to stress. Also, as a self assured, you will be able to control the way stress can affect you.

5.      No vices. Give up drinking too much alcohol, smoking and having too much coffee (if you can). These might appear disguised as coping with stress strategies, but they’re really making things worse. In time, these bad habits can affect your general health and in the short term they can make you lose focus. Television and video games sometimes fall into this category. If they are consumed profusely, they might be classified as damaging addictions.

6.      Manage your time better. This is where you should learn to compartmentalize. Decide when you work schedule begins, when your break times are and when is your personal time and try to respect these boundaries. Don’t book in too many activities during the same period, rather spread them out as much as possible and always finish the work you have to present several days before the assigned deadline. It’s the surest way to get rid of the stress and at the same time look over your work in a relaxed manner.

And the last of the coping with stress strategies is in my opinion the very best and I enjoy practicing it in full. It’s about respecting your personal time, relaxing and having a gay old time. So no matter how much a workaholic you are and how you would like to finish that report or answer that query in your private time, don’t. Turn off your computer and do something you actually enjoy. See a movie, talk to an old friend or take a walk in the park. Trust me, you will feel the meaning of stress free bliss.
