First Date Questions
So…what are the best first date questions? They should help you learn as much as you can about your date, and also should spark up interesting conversation. The first date questions have a notorious reputation for being redundant. Everybody asks the same things, because how much can you really know about a person in one date, so they tend to stick to the same general questions, just to see if they have any common points on which they could build a relationship. So here are some first date questions:
· What do you do? This is as basic as they get, but it’s something that you shouldn’t avoid to ask. What somebody does tells you a lot about who they are, but try to keep an open mind, a lion tamer could turn out to be really dull, and an accountant could turn out to be a very risk-taking, adventure-seeking person.
· What are your hobbies? A hobby is something personal, it shows somebody’s interests outside his work, and helps you to get a much clearer picture of what your date is like. This is one of the most important first date questions.
· What movies do you like? At this point you should try to get more and more personal with your date. Try to find the things he or she likes to see if you have common tastes. But you have to remember that liking exactly the same things isn’t always something to be desired, because you can get bored with that person. Everybody has seen a lot of movies so this is a good place to start if you want to know your dates preferences
· What music do you listen to? This first date question is more personal than the one about movies. Music tends to split people in categories rockers, hip-hoppers, punkers etc, and some people find the belonging to the same group a must. This does not mean that you should go on your first date wearing the specific clothes for the genre you listen to (full leather for rockers, cap turned backwards for rappers)only if you want to make it clear to your date how important music is for you and how adamant you are about what you listen to.
· What books did you like? This question also shows something about the culture of your date. If the only thing he or she has read in the past year is some sort of magazine, then maybe you’re better off not wasting the rest of the first date questions on that particular person.
· What did you want to be when you were growing up? This question is a great way to see if your date has still something left of his or hers inner child. It usually sparks memories about their childhoods, and if their eyes light up when they talk about that be sure that this person has not forgotten the joy of life and how to have fun.
· What is the last stupid thing you did? This first date question is a must. You can find out how funny your date is because a stupid thing most likely is a funny thing that happened to them. If they can’t think of anything than that means that their lives are pretty dull, because how can you have fun if you don’t do something stupid once in a while.
· What do you think is the most annoying thing on the face of the planet? This is another great very personal first date question. Everybody is annoyed by very specific little things. Your date will probably be taken of guard and you may find some very peculiar answers that could give you more clues about what to expect from your date.
· What is your favorite food? Well you wouldn’t think much of this question, but it’s a pretty important first date question. You can see if you’re date has really acquired tastes or if she doesn’t pay that much attention to what he or she eats at all. This information could prove useful in the future.
· What would you want to have for a pet: a dog or a cat? The arch rivalry between cat people and dog people should not be taken lightly. That’s why you should get this question out of the way quickly.
And that brings us to the end of the list of the best first date questions. These questions have tried and proven but that doesn’t mean that you can’t improvise. See what you really care about and try to find out as quickly as you can, preferably on a first date, if the other person cares about those things as well. So don’t be afraid to custom make your own first date questions, cause each of us is unique.
