Does having a girlfriend really change your life? Well the answer to that question will be in every case: of course it does. ·        You have somebody to share all your problems with. A girlfriend will always be there to listen to everything you have to say. Of course you always had family and friends to talk to about your problems but a girlfriend will be there in another kind of way for you. She will share the burden of your problems because she will feel directly affected by them. Her mood depends on your mood, so she will try anything in her power to help you.

·        Your priorities will change, the most important thing for you will become making her happy. She will become the most important person in your life and if you like it or not you will find that most of the things you do, you do for her, and if the love is strong between you two, she will do the same. Caring about each other is the most important thing in the relationship.

·         You don’t spend so much time with your friends. It is inevitable that because you spend so much time with your girlfriend you won’t have as much time as you had before with your friends. This could bring a strain on the relationship so it is important that you try to bring your girlfriend and your friends together as much as possible. Get them to feel comfortable with each other and that way you will be able to bring these two parts of your life together.

·        You have to make compromises between which friends, hers or yours to go out with. If your girlfriend has a different group of friends than your own, you will constantly get in a power struggle on the subject of which friends to go out with. It is important to make compromises because otherwise the relationship can suffer. Try to be as fair and possible and alternate days that you spend with your friends with days you spend with her friends. The ideal situation is when you can get the two groups of friends together, only it rarely works out in such a way that the groups are compatible.

·        You lose some of your independence. This is something that most guys are afraid of, the fact that they will be tied down and they won’t get to do all things they want. It’s true in some cases but in most there isn’t such a fear because everybody wants to be with somebody. It’s more of a stereotype the idea that having a girlfriend makes you lose your independence.

·        You will have to impress her family. Another change that happens when you have a girlfriend is the fact that you have to impress her family as well if you think of going further in the relationship.

·        You will always somebody to go out with. Remember the days when you wanted to go out but none of your friends could. Well if you have a girlfriend those days are over, because you will always have someone to go out with. And if she doesn’t want to go out that night you can always use that for doing the same when you don’t feel like it.

Having a girlfriend does change your life. Most of the changes are positive, but of course there will be some downsides as well. Don’t let these negatives take the best of you because they are mostly exaggerations made up by frustrated guys who couldn’t get a girl. The truth is that everybody sooner or later will find someone they will want to share their life with. The important thing to remember is not to be afraid of the idea of changing your life because of your girlfriend. You will have to make room in your life for her, as she will for you, but it’s all for the best, because nothing is more important than love.
