Growth and study are correlated with each other. If you want to growth, you need knowledge, and if you want knowledge you to study. Study is an integral part of developed manhood where even sky is not the limit. In ancient Indian mythology, they have divided life in four equal parts, the first of it is students life where in the aspirant has been advised to devote all his time and efforts in learning new things and lessons, develop skills and improve his/her career prospects. The second part is for earning, third for religion and the fourth, if one has got opportunity to live it, should be spent in seclusion, away from the whole world and close to nature and god. In fact the process of learning never stops.

So far as academic study is concerned, it takes a large part of our life, coincidently the young age, when one should concentrate on study, is most vulnerable to wander in wondering world. This is the age when it gets hard to tide our heart and mind solely on study. The age factor makes it very difficult for one to stay one pointed and, most often, students astray from their road to success and end-up in a messy life. They do not know how to develop good study habits.

Contrarily, those who can tame their fancies and put all their might and mettle in study, do reap better benefits. This article is for this second type of pupils who do not know how to develop good study habits and find it difficult to concentrate on study when they must do it.

Of course you can not keep studying all the time, neither you should. It is said that studying for an hour with concentration is worth studying for 4 hours without it.  Here is some tips and tricks how you can develop good study habits for all types of classes including online schooling.

Break in Bits  Do not sit studying for long hours. It doesn’t do any good. Your mind gets tired soon and starts pouncing up to come out of your skull. The right thing is break it in bits. Break your study schedule in small periods of one or two hours, providing for sufficient intervals to refresh your mind in between. This will keep your interest live and then only your mind will remember what you learn.

Find the Fresh – You have 24 hours with you every day to do your things. You are left with a lot of time even after reducing your sleeping hours. You can do wonders in this given time, if you know how to manage it, like in the morning hours, when your mind is fresh after a good sleep. There is a slot when you feel real refreshed. This is the time when your mind is in best position to learn new things. Earmark it for your study. Likewise, if you can spare some time to take a nap in noon hours, you would feel fresh when you wake up.

Tame The Time– Once you have identified the best time slot for your study, book it for your study on daily basis. This will further strengthen your learning prospects. Because our body forms habits very fast and wants to repeat the same procedure days in and days out. For example if you start eating your lunch at 12 noon, you will automatically start feeling hungry by this time on regular basis. Likewise if you plan to go to bed at 10pm daily, you will start feeling drowsy every day by this time. So, if you plan your schedule for study, your mind will start nudging you to take up your books as you near that time.

Hit When it is Hot – Just do not start abrupt and end up anywhere. This is not a good practice, neither for life, nor for study. Always set your target when you sit for study and try your best to accomplish it before you decide to close your books. This will improve your study habits and raise your confidence level with a special sense of achievement.

Now or Never – This is the worst thing which has spoiled many of the lives. If the clock has struck the time due for your study, do not attempt to delay it deliberately for mere this and that. Students do it often, sometimes because of fear of the tough assignments, or something similar. Procrastination is a bad habit. This will delay your study, spoil your schedule and will even disturb your future schedule. Its high time to take yourself in hand, if you are its victim.

Go Head First – Sometimes students try to avoid doing difficult assignments and keep themselves busy in doing what they can do easily. This is not a good practice in fact. You should attempt to do the difficult things first because this is where you would learn something new. Once you have accomplished the difficult part of the problem, you can easily solve the simple part of it.

Go by Guidelines – some times students, even professionals, do not like to review instructions and guidelines and set out on the tasks with their over spilling confidence. They most often end up in putting in more efforts than was really needed. It could save them a lot of time and efforts if they go through the instructions first. Always try to study the guidelines / instructions well before attempting the questions. This helps do things right and fast, without losing the track.

At last, try to find out what motivates you towards your study and use it at your best. Convince yourself that study is a must for you and this is the only key to a bright future. I hope you will benefit from ‘How to develop good study habits’ article. Wish you best of luck.
