How To Drive Real Change


 

We are familiar with the proverb that “change is the only constant.” Apart from being so true, this change is a force that takes your company onward. So, how to drive this drive? How to drive real change? This is not as easy to do as easy to say. But needless to say, driving change is not only necessary, it is a must to run your company and take it towards progress.

 

Stagnancy is a curse, whether it be stagnant water or stagnant progress of a company, it is not acceptable at all. If you want to keep your company thriving as well as keep the trend of profit and good performance going high, you need to drive change.

 

First of all, let us consider the ever-changing market. Due to its dynamic characteristics, a market is never to be taken granted. Whoever fails to understand this, fails miserably. There have been cases when a company understands its target market very well and, can almost read its nerve and can predict its upcoming behavior accordingly. Then what the company does, changes the company’s fate. For example, there will be two types of companies: shortsighted and longsighted. The shortsighted ones will think that their jobs are done and they try to cater to their target with the same solutions or offerings over and over again. They start to lose the hold on these customers as the customers, consciously or unconsciously keep on changing their needs. The companies that are longsighted keep changing with their customers. Moreover, if some company makes a change according to market demand then it becomes a must for other companies too. If others do not do that, they will suffer as well.

 

Secondly, the environment, the demands, the atmosphere of the company internalities changes with time too. As a leader, it is one of your most crucial duties to detect these changes. These changes are apparently more subtle in nature and you have to have really goo observation power to cope with these. Otherwise, you might end up sacrificing some your most dedicated employees.

 

So, how to drive real change? Is there any way to drive real change? Well, following are some suggestions that you may follow in the hope to drive real change:

 

·        First of all, create the urge in your team-members before you initiate the change that you would like to implement. Make your peers understand, make them realize how important it is for overall wellbeing. If you can ignite the necessity in everyone then it will be not that hard for you to implement this change.

·        Secondly, and probably more importantly, take charge and start doing first. If you depend on others thinking that they will go ahead with anything that you would like to implement then you are wrong. Unless you take action, you cannot and should not expect others to work according to your consideration and specification. You should make a clear directory about who you expect to do what and communicate properly. Then your people will know what their responsibilities are and will act accordingly. Some crucial things that you have to do yourself to teach others what you want from them. For example, you should meet deadlines, you should do your works with sincerity etc. if you draw the path, most will follow. The rest will eventually after you provide them with your feedback in regular routine sessions. These sessions should carry out regularly let’s say on a monthly basis so that you all know that you are on the same ground.

·        Now, let’s focus on the lifeline, the market. All your efforts go in vein if you cannot fetch good results from the market. In order to do so, you must, along with your teammates, need to survey the market and observe the changing trends in market demands. You must involve others in these acts in order to make them realize how important roles they are playing in the overall acts as well as they cannot take their hands off easily from their responsibilities or stand others responsible for some of their deeds. After doing these, strike the right place to reap the maximum benefit.

 

These are some of the mere suggestions that you need in order to drive real changes. There are many more that you will realize and that are only applicable for your assumed responsibilities. If you take care of all of these sensitive matters, then driving the real change is no problem at all!
