In the very beginning, I must make an honest statement. No one, I repeat, no one in the world knows exactly how to find true love. What we can merely do is, wait for the right thing to happen with the right person at the right time. The most we can do is once we have found out our optimum significant other; we can go one step further and attempt directly to send them signals regarding our interest. Other than that, we, the optimists, can wait and hope to find true love, keeping our fingers crossed.

So, does that mean, there is no way to find true love? Well, love isn’t math. The answer can vary on a wide continuum from yes to no. In between; you will come across so many answers which would puzzle you even more than ever. If you take my opinion, I will say that you can take care of some aspects when it comes to true love, but you cannot take total control over it. For example, you may be able to find the person who possesses everything you have been dreaming of all your life, but guess what? He/she has only one thing lacking, he/she cannot elicit the feeling from within you, and you do not feel the love from Mr. /Mrs. Perfect. Rather you fall in love with someone in whom you had found quite a handful of flaws earlier! 

Now, let’s carry on and keep the following tips in mind. These will not guarantee true love, but will make achieving it easier:

1.      Do not set standards: yes, you read it right. You might think you never did. But think carefully. Did you really not? Many people grow up with the expectation and an ideal image of the significant other. But trust me, when it comes to finding true love, a set standard is a big no. For example, someone who always wanted a non-smoker partner may end up in love with a serious smoker. A guy who has always wanted a girl with long and silky hair may have a partner whose hair hardly touches the shoulders. So, piece of advice, if you want to find true love, do not have prior expectations. This will (may be) make you reject the true love of your life for an insignificant reason.

2.      Find the opposite: I am not asking you to deliberately finding out the one totally inverse to you in character; I am just saying, naturally you will be attracted more to the person who is more opposite to you than others. Why so? Because opposites do attract. When you end up with the opposite natured partner, you work like two pieces of puzzles. You fulfill each other. You complement each other. He/she fills up your limits, you do his/hers. Together, you two are complete.

3.      Love yourself: yes, love yourself. One of the easiest ways to help yourself find true love (and needless to say one of the things taken for granted), yet one of the most effective ones. Why so? Because, when you love yourself, you want to do things that not only makes others happy, but you also end up doing a lot of things that makes you happy. When you are in love with yourself, only then if you let someone else in your life, it means a lot. Because, when you can accept someone’s intrusion without being annoyed, then yes my friend, you have found your true love.

4.      Let the partner keep you happy: when you think that you have found your true love at last, test him/her in a humble manner. How? Observe if he/she is doing something to make you happy, not a very big deal, right? Well, it is very hard to find. Remember one thing, just because you think you have found your true love and want to have him/her forever, do not go on compromising. Let him/her contribute too. This will benefit your future to a great extent.

5.      Find a friend: find a friend first when trying to find true love. No matter how different your cultures are or how much you differ in age, you must find a friend in your true love.

These are some of the many things that you may adopt while trying to find true love. I would like to deliver some advices near the end. Do not become possessive over him/her. If he/she is your true love, he/she will return even if goes away, do not take physical attraction or obsession for true love by mistake and never force yourself to love someone. Love is spontaneous. So, when you want to find true love, just let it happen. Love will come and flow you away. Just flow with it!
