How To Find Your Calling
Life is calling! But most of us fail to know from where and in which disguise. By the time you realise your calling, it will be too late and you will be left with no energy and intention to follow the trail. You must learn how to find your calling to be happy and contended; and sooner you find your calling, the more time you get to make your life more meaningful.
During our routine and mundane everyday life we often feel that the path we tread on is not meant for us. We are intended to do something else and would be ever willing to do so. You feel drawn towards certain activity or aim. That particular activity will fill you with energy, make you more lively and you will feel as though every moment of it is eternal.
But to start with, how will you know that you need to find your calling? Here are a few checkpoints:
· Do you not enjoy what you do throughout the day and feel dissatisfied at the end?
· Do you feel alienated from your surroundings?
· Do you feel that you would have been much happier doing ‘something else’?
· Do you feel an inner urge to drop everything at hand and follow your heart?
· Do you feel that your present is not meeting your idea of happiness?
· Do you constantly feel the yearning for some unknown?
· Do you feel that someone or something is calling you out there somewhere but not sure exactly what and where?
Most of the answers to the above questions are likely to be affirmative if you haven’t found your life’s calling. How to find your calling, to put it in another words, is also how to find the purpose of your life. For those of you who feel lost and not sure from where the life is calling, we provide some guidance.
What makes you happy?
There are moments in life when you feel the happiest. There are the moments when you lose the sense of time and the self. There is an activity in which you feel lost while doing it. If you find a common thread running through all these, then that link or factor may be an indication of or the calling of your life. To ensure that, do the activity more frequently and for extended period of time. Find out whether you still enjoy it the same way or even more. Or do you feel that the joy is fading or vanishing altogether.
If you feel happier and lively doing the activity, it is likely to be your life’s calling.
Whether you feel like doing it again and again?
Whether it’s your job or any other activity, if you feel like doing it all over again and receive an immense satisfaction, probably you are on the right path. Your life’s calling will leave you contended and energized even with the slightest brush with it. You will feel the same passion every time you carry it out. You will feel immersed in it and alienated from the rest of the world while doing it.
If you can’t wait anymore to walk down the same path and are ready to forgo everything else for the same, then you are closer to finding your life’s calling.
Did you expect this in your life?
Most of the life’s callings often take you on a course that you expect the least. Initially, people around you may object to it and you may surprise yourself as you never expected yourself to walk this route. However, if it is the same that you yearned for and if you find yourself doing it from the core of your heart, then do it in spite of what people may say or that it’s odd job to do.
You never, or may realise it late where the life has kept its hidden treasure for you. This unexpected and uncommon turn may take you to the purpose that had been missing for long.
