How to Have the Game Plan for Success in Job
I have always wondered why some people succeed in same job while other fails. There are many complex combinations of personalities and work but still you would find that people who rise up the corporate ladder may not posses the same traits either within or across the combination. While there can be no sure shot formula of success but there is always preparedness that has the potential to turn the odds in your favor. Seemingly you are not born with skills but you attain them with time as your progress in life. Some gets acquired naturally while there are others for which one has to work hard. Hence if there is any soft skill which can help you get success in Job then why not give it a try…..at best you wont gain anything but if you do then nothing compares to it.
Success in Job is much desirable only because of the associated benefits and opportunities of growth attached to it. While hard work, experience, knowledge are too obvious and desired skills there are others which has the potential to give you the edge.
When you compete in any sports, what is that which provides you an edge?

- Stamina
- Discipline
No, they are much obvious. Think of something more

2) Knowledge of their moves
3) Knowledge of their history

Yes, there is a Game Plan and it is very practical approach which when rolled out with proper enforcements has the potential to do wonder in your career.
The Game Plan has two simple Ingredients…….it is Knowledge of
1) The Structure, and
2) The Concentration of Power
You crack the two and you increase your chances of success in Job.
Have you ever thought why Maps are very important for
1) Pilots
2) Army, or
3) Rally Drivers
Because
1) They give you the directions
2) They tell you about the obstacles
3) They tell you about the shortest available path.
In same manner, Knowledge of Structure within your Organization is very Important because by this
1) You know the hierarchy
2) You know how the information flows
3) You know the influence points at each step
That helps you to know
1) Where you are
2) Where you need to go, and
3) What path you need to take.
This ensures that you are not aimless and know where your destination is.
But story doesn’t ends here. You need to know the concentration of Power. You need to know
1) Where Power resides
2) How that Power can be Influenced
3) How the Power can be unleashed.
When I say that I talk about Impressing and Influencing those people
1) Who can be your Boss or your Bosses Boss
2) People at different positions in organization who can help you rise
3) People in your peer group who can help you grow.
Such people can be any role like Finance or HR but important point is they do give you a Push.

3) Having Killer Instincts.
Everyone does hard work and posses innumerable qualities but you need to be different and smart about your growth.
Have a Game Plan. Know where you want to go and you need to know how to go. Rest is just a matter of time. Learn to respect job of other people who are not even related to your work and you would be amazed when multiple factors combine to help you grow in Job.
Remember, Success is a Habit and you need to master it at any cost.
