This therefore is where the principle of how to keep your resolutions is based on. So without wasting time, here are some of the reason why people fail before they start.
1. Wrong Timing: The New Year eve or at the dawn or closely after a new year is the wrong time for making resolutions. The reason is because resolutions at this time are made on the spur of the moment. It is a new year, the very thought of that triggers some excitement and at the apex of it all; during the partying, happiness, when things seem to look so perfect the inspiration of perfection is released. In the spirit of the moment you want to feel at par with nature; as time is changing there is a significant desire to change with it. Unfortunately, the feeling of crossing over into the New Year is short-lived once everything is over; the euphoric feelings will come to an end, so will the desire for change. So it is a matter of having the wrong motivation which is temporal.
2. Wrong Motivation: For change to happen it requires an unforgettable occurrence. This occurrence might be to suffer a serious problem that is a direct consequence of your habits. Example, if you are obese and given to gluttony; a condition that has defied many resolution attempt by you and one day something you will never forget in a hurry happened (you are free to think up something really gross here). Then with pain and resolution from your innermost being you decide to take a decision to lose weight. The possibility of making good your resolution is very high.
3. Lack Of Determination: Resolution without the right amount of determination is bound to fail
4. Lack of seriousness
5. Making resolutions that are not based on the right reasons
