How To Reprogram The Subconscious Mind

In our day to day life, whatever activities we perform are a result of the conscious mind’s working. Conscious mind is that part of the mind which reasons, thinks, discriminates, analyzes and contemplates. It is the conscious mind that is responsible for all the emotions we display. Imaginations, worries all come under the domain of the conscious mind. All the voluntary bodily actions we perform are also a result of the conscious mind.

But the way our conscious mind behaves is handled by the subconscious mind. The impulses and urges stored in the subconscious mind induces the conscious mind to behave in a certain way, the result of which are the emotions, responses, imaginations, contemplations etc. The way we will behave in a given situation will be the result of the signals erupting out of the subconscious mind. The way our subconscious mind is programmed will urge an individual to behave accordingly.

Conflicts arise when the urges of the subconscious mind and the social expectations or the behavior deemed correct by the society doesn’t match. Whenever this happens the conscious mind gets agitated and this might even result in psychosomatic diseases in some cases. By reprogramming the subconscious mind we can resolve these conflicts to quite an extent.

Below Are Listed Some Ways To Reprogram The Subconscious Mind

1)By Trying Hypnotism Or Dowsing: The best way to reprogram the subconscious mind is through hypnotism or dowsing. The subconscious mind could be directly accessed by hypnotizing techniques, by bringing the conscious mind to the semi – sleep or drowsy state. When we go to sleep the conscious mind is quieted and the subconscious mind starts functioning. Thus by inducing sleep or semi sleep a hypnotist can access the subconscious mind. It is at this time he can expose the subconscious mind totally and can know the biases, prejudices, fears, suspicions and the emotions stored there. The hypnotist can then try to rectify or clear these impurities by giving the subconscious mind opposite and positive commands.

2)By Being Aware Of Your Reactions And Curbing Impulsive Reactions: Control your impulses. All the impulses are the result of the programming of the subconscious mind. Hence in order to reprogram the subconscious mind don’t oblige any impulse immediately Whenever you find yourself in the clutches of the urge to behave immediately in an undesirable manner try to exercise self restraint and patience. You can certainly reprogram the subconscious mind to quite an extent by examining an impulse, holding it for some time and then behaving in an appropriate manner.

3)By Stopping The Further Contamination Of The Subconscious Mind – NOW: Avoid hurry, anxiety and desperation for worldly matters. Don’t let the sensual pleasures overtake you by becoming a slave to them. Don’t give back criticisms and insults. Every incident that has happened in our life and our reaction to it till now has left its imprint in our subconscious mind. All the predispositions, inclinations, habits and the biases are a result of this pre conditioning. Hence try looking at the current things in an objective way without being prejudiced and stop contaminating the subconscious mind any further

4)By Staying Focused And Aware Of All The Actions Performed By You: Try to achieve planned thinking and avoid day dreaming. Try to achieve concentration in the daily activities you perform. If the conscious mind remains fully active, and does all the chores with maximum awareness then it maintains its say over the subconscious mind and does not get subservient to the phobias, fears etc arising out of it. By staying vigilant and alert towards the actions performed the further programming of the subconscious mind will be towards positivity and wellness.

5)By Being Aware Of The Autonomous Actions, Especially Breathing: Mind and breath have close connection. When mind is calm, breath is slow, deep and rhythmic. It is the opposite when the mind is disturbed. The breathing becomes irregular and un-rhythmic when you face some turmoil or the emotions get disturbed. At those times by controlling and changing the breathing pattern to rhythmic and deep, you can calm down the mind to quite an extent. The disturbed emotions get eased out to some extent by exerting control over breathing. Thus we can prevent the negative emotions and thoughts from exerting control over the conscious mind and consequently to the subconscious mind. Similarly by controlling the other autonomous actions like invariably shaking of leg, rubbing of palms – which are a result of deep seated nervousness and anxiety – we can handle the eruption of negative emotions from the subconscious mind and thus reprogram it to a successful level.

Reprogramming the subconscious mind would become very easy with the above mentioned ideas. Moreover indulging in positive thinking and change of mental attitude by providing the mind affirmations will also act as a substantially great factor in reprogramming the subconscious mind and purifying it to achieve tranquility, peace, good behavioral responses and happiness.

  1. Interesting post.  I like your thoughts on reprogramming the subconscious.  Being engaged in 'watchfulness' is what Osho says is good for reprogramming the mind and you certainly have broken that down into smaller pieces when you mention taking notice of your breathing and actions.  A pleasure to read.
