How To Study For A Test

Before a test we all study but do all of us get the same number on that test?  No, we do not. Now, the question is how to study for a test so that we can score the desirable number. Life is like a game. The more efficiently and strategically you handle the joystick the possibility of winning the game gets higher. Same thing goes for our academic lives.

So, every student should follow a strategy while taking preparation for the test. Without a god strategy you might not get the perfect result of your effort. You must plan your strategy according to your learning style and of course according to the subject you are preparing for. For example, the strategy for mathematic and social science will never be the same.

Here are some tips which will help you to decide- how to study for a test:

·        The first thing you need to do, as I mentioned in the introductory paragraph, is making a strategy. Take a look at your syllabus. How much time you have on your hand? What type of test you are going to face? Use the answer of these questions for making a god plan. So it is obvious that your strategy must include a schedule or timetable of your study plan. A good planning will help you to complete your study on time so that you can take the test with full preparation.

·        Do not pile up your lessons for the last moment. Start taking the preparation two or three days prior to the test. It will not only lessen your study load but also will help you taking a through preparation.

·        A very good tip on how to study for a test is to start studying with an easier topic. If you start with a very hard topic then that might demoralize you to study. When you will start with an easier topic and would finish it very quickly and easily, it will boost up your energy.

·        Do not study for a long time at a stretch. Take short breaks, like for five to ten minutes and try to recapitulate what you have studied so far. This will help you a lot. Often you study very hard but your brain cannot take the load. As result even though you studied the entire syllabus you could not remember them properly in the exam hall.

·        Do not study in front of a television or while you are listening to music. You may think you can do multitasking but the fact is it always diverts your concentration. It will take more time to complete your syllabus. So never do that.

·        Another tip on how to study for a test is to follow some effective techniques that work for you. For example, before memorizing try to understand what you are studying. Read the whole topic twice or thrice to get yourself familiar with the terms and important points. You can also underline the important lines with a colorful marker pen so that those lines get your attention on further reading.  Just before going to the exam hall you can go through those underlined lines in spite of reading the whole text. You can also follow some techniques which will help you memorizing the text. For example: while studying the reason of environmental pollution you can point out the reasons like, deforestation, ozone layer depletion and carbon-dioxide emission etc and make a word i.e. DOC with the starting  letter of these reasons. It will make you learning a lot easier. This is just an example I am giving you to get the idea. You can now make you own techniques for making you learning easier.

·        Revision is another important tip on how to study for a test. Revise whatever you have studied before the exams. It will help you to remember everything correctly and accurately.

These are some of the tips which, I hope will help you taking preparation for a test. But always remember, fifty percent of your success rate depends on you exam fitness. Most of the students do not get their desired score just because they could not apply their knowledge properly while answering the question. So giving the test with full fitness is also very important. Many students do not sleep properly on the night before the test and keep on studying. If that suits you then it is fine, otherwise it can be proved a wrong effort for your exam. So try to sleep adequately on the night before the exam.

How to study for a test is mostly depends on your own style, these are just some of the common facts that you need to keep in mind while taking the preparation. I hope it will help and best of luck for your upcoming test!
