Improving Self Image


We all have a self image, an image which reflects us as a person in our eyes. We keep on improving self image every time. Mostly, self image is the output of our thinking. What we think is what we see our self as. Sometimes our self image is something we want others to see us as. For example, we want that others should see me as a very cool and calm person. In this case, we try to find those symptoms in us which leads to this kind of image and start believing on them and thus we build our own self image. We keep on changing our self image whenever we hear or face any kind of criticism or compliments about us from others. This is not a matter of a second, a day or two; it takes years to build a self image.

 

If you find yourself in anyone of these situations then you need to improve self image of yours.

1.      If you feel excessive shyness in front of others. 

2.      Even at extreme situation, you feel extreme humility. 

3.      Always feeling discontent, defeated and worthless.  

4.      After recalling past events and failures, you start feeling remorse.

6.      Ashamed of your looks and hating yourself because of that.

There are few tips on improving self image. You can use them in order to make yourself a better person in your eyes.

 

You must like your own body

In order to boost up your self esteem, you have to like your body. When you look good to yourself, then there would be an inner confidence from within and you start feeling worthy. And if you feel bad about your body then there are chances that you may destroy anything in your body. You have to evaluate your thinking and then consider yourself as the most charming personality around you.

 

After proper evaluation, you must think that whether there is anything you could do that will fetch you more happiness. If your answer is yes then don’t be disheartened but you should do that thing so that you may feel proud of you and happier at the same time. If you have a poor opinion about yourself and you continue it then this will act as a social barrier while interacting with others.

 

Change your mental image

Imagination works like a computer in which you can create new pictures, delete old pictures or sometimes can edit them according to your convenience. If you change your picture inside your mind then you will be a new one. You will act according to that new picture and if you install a beautiful picture then your attitude and all acts will be beautiful and will like by all.

 

Create new experiences

While improving self image, you should keep in mind that you have to create some entirely new experiences for yourself, because if you hold those negative self images with you then your confidence will be at zero level and you can never get success in any of your work. We always think that we will be the most comfortable in our comfort zone. But you have to step out of your comfort zone and have to experience new things of your life.

 

Alter your limiting beliefs

Every human being is brought up with some beliefs. These beliefs may come from family values or societal restrictions. Whatever is the reason but there are certain beliefs which restricts our thinking and limit us from experiences some more happiness, joy and pleasure from our life. The stronger is your belief on positive things, happier and satisfied you will feel in your life.

 

Canceling and replacing your negative talks

Most of the times, we don’t even realize that we are getting limited by our thoughts. Subconsciously, we perform those tasks or say those words which you never wanted to or which you will never say by remaining conscious. Any thought which is disempowering you; replace it with a fresh and more positive thought consciously. You have to train your mind so that it will keep on improving self image by changing and replacing negative thoughts into positive.

 

Thus, by following these tips of improving self image, one can surely become a better person and can develop god image of his own.
