Missed Your Targets- Use Count 5 Approach
One should not be afraid to fail. There is no harm in failing till the time it becomes your habit. In every failure there is an opportunity to learn and improve. You would not be appreciating success till the time you have seen the failure. Success has its own flavor. It is definitely the best thing that can happen and helps you grow in life. It has cascading effects in your behavior and outlook which you cannot even realize in realm of your normal understanding.
It is easy to fail and then to succeed.
So let’s talk about something which is Easy. Failure definitely sounds bad but it’s definitely one step towards the success. So let’s define what might be considered as a failure in single task (note that word “single”- It means same task)
1) Missing the goals completely
2) Missing the Targets completely
Let us now give some meaning to failure in a very logical way. Failure in single task means
1) Missing the goals completely again and again.
2) Missing the targets completely again and again.
We need to keep in mind that habit of failure is vicious. It has implications which can run throughout our life and pull us off anything which we might want to achieve. The habit develops
1) An unconscious craving and at the same time a fear of “Will not succeed”
2) A near half hearted approach in anything we do.

2) Even if we try we never succeed because the battle is already lost in the mind.
This is the diagnosis of the Problem. Now let’s work on possible solution.
Sales is tough Job. I respect all those people who have mastered this art. Failure is common is sales. Success or failure in sales either makes a person hard core professional or it breaks them forever. There is one approach used in Sales called the Count 5 approach. This approach says
So if you have failed than don’t worry. It is
1) Not important that you have failed.
2) It is Important that you should learn from it and take corrective steps.
Remember Failure
1) Can be called as Ignorance the first time
2) Becomes a habit from second or third time.
So How to avoid failing repeatedly. Use the Count 5 Approach

1) Count 5 people who are below you
2) Count 5 people who are at the top.
3) Each day do your best in job or task in hand
4) Ask your yourself where you stand
5) Count again who are 5 people below you
6) Count again who are 5 people at the top
7) Check if the distance between you and the 5 people below you have got more
8 ) Check if the distance between you and the 5 people at the top has got less.
9) Be watchful of your surroundings and do this either daily or weekly.
10) Keep the check on progress
11) Be prepared for the D-day.
12) Celebrate the success.
So what essentially happens when you do that is
1) When you make check on your progress you get the real status
2) The status helps you get the view of reality
3) You adjust your effort based on the true picture of reality.
Remember there is nothing as important as being truthful to you.
