Personal Branding in first three months on job is crucial to help you rock forever. It does not matter if it is your first or tenth job; the principal of three months remains same in every situation. People fail to realize the importance of first three crucial months and believe this to be part of their honeymoon period. By the time their honeymoon gets over sometimes it is too late for them to rock or they may not rock at all. It is human tendency to realize late in their life what they have lost. And it is human tendency to ignore words of wisdom till the time it happens to them in real.

The problem is not that you are not serious about the Job or you are not willing to excel in your career. The problem lies in knowing the hacks and applying your knowledge to turn a bad or neutral situation to your advantage.  This post is about the importance of first three months and how it can help you shape your future.  Work on this logic and you would find how easy it becomes to establish and proper in your organization. First three months can make the journey ahead as smooth and comfortable as you aspire it to be.

 

So when you get a new Job, it is a Win-Win situation both for you and the company because

1)    Manager who has hired you has made the decision

2)    HR was part of the decision and has made sure that you are a perfect fit

3)    Every other person involved has given a GO ahead to hire you.

When they do that they

1)    Want their decision to hire you to be right

2)    They want to be known by the decisions they made

3)    If you do well, it would be they who would known for their decisions

1)    You manager and other people have high hopes from you

2)    They would be more tolerant about your mistakes

3)    You would get more opportunities to help them prove their decisions.

Yes, this happens because no one wants themselves to be known for making Bad Hiring Decision.

But this does not last forever.

1)    Generally three months is a good time to judge people

2)    Three months is a good time to form an opinion

3)    Three months is a good time to make an impression

This Scenario gives you an opportunity and the opportunity is to Brand Yourself.

Yes, you ideally have Three months to Establish Yourself as a Brand.

This is the best time because

1)    Your acceptability is high

2)    The conditions are favorable

3)    There are no preconceived notion about you

4)    You have no history

5)    You are new phenomenon

Establish Yourself as a Brand. Work Hard to be known. This is the best time when people look upon you for results. You give them more than what they want and it gives you an identity.

Think about Apple. Apple as a Brand is known for

1)    Imagination

2)    Design

3)    Innovation

In same manner, work hard and get known for

1)    Leadership

2)    Innovation

3)    Creativity…..etc. etc. etc.

This is your best chance, Grab it.

3)    Excel in it.

This Ensures Growth in your Job because

1)    A base has already been formed

2)    You now just need to Deliver

3)    Your reputation will remain ahead of you
