Prepare For An Important Day

Not all of the days in or lives are the same. There are ups and downs which is only normal. There will be days which are prosaic and again days that are crucial. You need to prepare for an important day in order for it to commence successfully. Then again, there are some important days that come without any notice and you just have to face them. And then, there are some days which are long awaited, you shiver from within to face it but have to be equally prepared and confident to not let anything go wrong and make the day so perfect that you can cherish the day long afterwards.

In order to prepare for an important day, you need to ready yourself from the day before. If you are heading from a day long program, then you should be prepared properly. First of all, do not let any last moment work pending for the last day. We always think that we can take care of everything properly with proper allocation of time but something or the other goes wrong at the last moment rendering us helpless. A small and improper timing can lead to big disasters. Why does it happen? Well, when you are under a lot of stress on the big day, you are not the best manager of time. Plus, we always forget to take into account the transition times and tend to make miscalculations. So, make the necessary preparations beforehand. Following are some rules of thumb or ground rules that you should follow:

·        To start with, cancel any appointment that you can postpone. Do not think that you can manage more than one absolute necessary one. Multitasking will often lead to unwanted problems.

·        Next, check your car on its gasoline level. Its often the case that people run late for an appointment because their gas level go below the red light and they are bound to stop and often a lot of time is consumed there.

·        Take care of your look and appearance the night before. Get all the things necessary on the dressing table, starting from watch, colon to liners, glosses, compact powder and other accessories like purse etc. After that, take care of the outfit. Is it a formal occasion? Is there a dress code; either implied or given? More importantly, are you asked to avoid something, like big accessories or the color red? Or, are you asked to wear a tie? Make sure that you prepare for the important day accordingly. Get the attire out that you would be wearing. Remember to get it ironed. Wrinkled attire without proper ironing is a complete no-no and creates a not so good first impression.

·        If it is not of much hassle then get a good hairdo in case you have not had one in days. Plus take a shower the day before the big day. Do not leave any lagging work that will tend to make you late for the appointment.

·        What else? Well, keep your night free for a good night ‘beauty’ sleep (both men and women) as more than necessary sleep will make you grumpy and less sleep will make you sleepy. Assign yourself at least 7 to 8 hours of proper sound sleep. Try not to return home late the earlier evening. Try to avoid late night invitations or parties; do not keep any office work pending as well.

·        Finally, set alarm for the morning. Set multiple alarms with the snooze technique. Nervousness will not let you sleep after the time to wake up. But you never know. It is often the case that, people cannot sleep until midnight or even later and then end up oversleeping in the crucial hour of the morning. Always remember to set the alarm one hour earlier than the time you want to finally leave your nest. For example, set the alarm at 7:00 am if you intend to go out at 8:00 am. This will let you have more time to take care of the last minute preparation quite easily.

These are some of the essential nitty-gritty things that will hold your crucial day together. Prepare all of these things beforehand so that you are under comparatively less pressure on the ‘D day’. A little trial and error on your part will let you make fewer mistakes on the day and help you prepare for the important day better. So, bring a smile on the face and stride out and ahead!
