It’s very hard to think of the right thing to say to somebody who is retiring. You can either go for expressing your sincere sentiments, which generally involve telling that person how much you will miss him or her at work, or for the joke to put a smile on that persons face. It’s very important that you be sincere when you are writing your sentiments for retirement towards somebody. If you have nothing good to say about that person, than you better not say anything at all, at most, write a sarcastic joke. It’s much better than writing something phony. · The problem I see with retirement is that you can never get a day off. A pretty funny joke that anybody will get, so you will have no problems there. The only thing you should look out for is other co-workers writing the same thing, because it’s a pretty popular joke.

· I don’t know why, but when a man retires, and time is no longer a thing of urgent importance, his colleagues feel obliged to by him a watch. These sentiments for retirement go very well with a gift that should of course be a watch.

· One of the biggest challenges of retirement is to find out how to spend your time without spending your money. Nothing can be truer. A saying that will resonate with most people.

These are just a few sentiments for retirement. As I said before, the best one’s and the most well suited for the occasion are those that you write yourself. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t look for inspiration, in which case I hope I could have been of some help, but that what you write is something very specific about that person, which makes that person feel that he or she was appreciated and loved. Most people have a hard time with this time in their life, and this is because of the fact that they got swamped in work and couldn’t pursue any of their other interests. When they finally don’t have to work anymore, they don’t seem to have anything else to do. So a few words, and a sign of affection for the people that person spent a whole lot of time with, could be just the missing ingredient that could help him or her start their retirement on a high note. And remember the most important thing, your sentiments for retirement should be sincere.
