Seeing that if the disciples are left alone with these fleshy traits they are bound to fail, and for this reason the holly spirit was released to them in the day of Pentecost. Therefore, if you do not possess these traits as a Christian, your Christian life will certainly be a struggle, difficult, uninteresting, and impossible: for what has flesh got to do with the spirit. 3. The gift of the holly spirit enables Christians to fulfill God’s will, which includes winning soul to the kingdom of God
4. The spiritual gifts in bible empower believers to live a holly life. Sin is a critical thing in Christianity. God’s love for man is total, but there is a big problem sin. Sin is the only thing that can separate man from God’s love, and salvation provided by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, due to the love for sin, men’s destiny is thorn away from God’s original desire, no thanks to the active force of the devil, who is father of sin. So seeing that man does not stand a chance of salvation with sin in view, God released the spiritual gift which is embodied in the personality of the holly spirit. For this reason Christians can leave a holly life, but it must be a conscious effort because God will never play with mans power of choice.
5. Knowledge acquisition. The holly spirit is the perfect teacher, so when he comes upon believers he transferred the gift to teach, and to learn. This is the reason for convictions of good or bad.
6. To achieve church growth. The holly spirit is the head of the church. And Christians are major parts combined to make a church. Paul in his description infers human responsibility in a church to different parts of the body, all working together to make a whole (human).
7. Individual growth. It is God expectation that His children prospers physically even as their spirit prospers. But God has his way, which is not easy for mere flesh, so the spiritual gift is given to enable believers to have balanced growth.
How to obtain spiritual gift
Spiritual gift can be obtained if one is born again. Because the promise is for those who believe, the first step is to repent from sins, and ask Jesus to come into your life, and lastly ask for the help to do the work of God. In response to these prayers the holly spirit will be released and the manifestations will be boldness, faith, peace, prophecy, speaking in unknown tongues, and so many others.
