Taking Care Of Yourself
Even though we human beings are known to be selfish in nature genetically, we often ironically forget to take care of the most important person in our lives-ourselves. So true, isn’t it? Some of you may disagree with me on the point that no, you are not the one you love the most in the world. Well, that is not what I literally meant either. The fact I tried to convey is that even when you are trying to take care of the most important people of your lives, you have to keep yourself fit by taking care of yourself. Probably the most important job as a matter of fact that people often ignore is assigning them some time. It does not mean that they do not love themselves; it is just that they, mostly in an unconscious manner, tend to forget that they should be allowing themselves to relax to.
So, how would you take care of yourself? By taking care I do not only mean the physical take care part. The psychological nourishment is equally important if not more. For instance, if you care a bit less for a flawless skin but are happy and content, your skin will nevertheless glow due to the inner happiness that you possess. Thus, it is obvious that you have to take care of yourself in a rather 360 degree manner. Following are some tips I hope you find helpful:
· How can you take care of your skin? You do not need to let go of a lot of money in order to achieve a radiant skin. You can use the daily household products that can come in handy. For example, fruits like papaya, banana, tomato, melon, other products like pulses, turmeric, milk, cucumber etc can all become your regular skin care product! For pedicure and manicure- you can take care of these at home too. There are care sets available at nearby shops which can be easily used to regain your skin’s lively look.
· Next comes the functioning of your body. An extremely important component on the checklist of how to take care of yourself, you should never ignore physical fitness no matter how matter fit and perfectly shaped you think you are. Physical fitness is not about achieving and taking for granted that it will remain the same no matter how much we ignore it. Rather, it is about maintaining; tear and wear will be evident every now and then, but let that not de-motivate you. Try to learn any simple one or two types of free hand physical exercises and try to do them daily. It’s not necessary that you have to take a lot of preparations in advance; you can even learn some of these which you can exercise at your office, workplace, school or college too!
· A lot of people are of the opinion that things like motivation, yoga, Pilates are extremely helpful. Although a bit tough to insert these in your extremely busy schedule and coordinate, once you get involved in one of these, you will see the results very soon.
· Do you know that spending quality time with your loved ones by either doing something fun, creative or doing nothing at all and relax in a rather laid back mood can be extremely helpful. Try to spend some time with the ones you love the most in the world. Do not compromise your time with them owing to workload. Try to minimize the compromise at least. Otherwise the guilt-ridden feeling you will have afterwards will make things even worse for you in a stressed-after-all-day-of-monotonous work!
· One of the most important things of taking care of yourself (that we seldom do) is to give some time to you, away from family, friends and responsibility. You should have your own time in a completely isolated zone; you can take yourself shopping, you can be creative and restart a hobby, you can go for a walk to talk to yourself about how has your life been, whether you have achieved what you wanted to, how are you making sense of your time and money and so on. Do these, you will feel confident, energetic and care-free.
These are some of the usual and unusual ways of taking care of you. If you can make a balance between all of these then you can have a radiant look on your face, literally and figuratively. However, unfortunately, whenever we end up pressed by a busy day routine, we often compromise self care as the first thing. This is not at all desirable if you really want to be fit and healthy.
