How do you ensure a positive attitude towards teambuilding games form the participants and what’s the best way to get the desired results, witch are of course the building of an efficient team. Many problems can arise in team building exercises, the most common of which is that of lack of interest from the participants. The easiest way to solve this is to ensure that you always have the most interesting team building activities and games, and you know how to make them work. These kinds of games are meant to make people know one another, make them trust each other, and not least of all to find out what their qualities and defects are. So here are a few team building games that are very popular and almost always give the desired effect:

 

·        Two truths and one lie. This is one of those team building games that are meant to break the ice. People get to know one another by telling two truths and one lie about themselves. The objective of the game is to find out what the false statement was.

·        Create your own group activity. This is one of the most challenging team building activities. That’s because it involves a lot of factors, such as communication, task-orientation, planning organizing. The final objective of this activity is to make the group come up with a new activity to do as a team.

·        Close your eyes and fall on your back with confidence that the person standing in back of you won’t let you fall. This is one of the classic team building activities, and it is one of the best ways to build trust between team members. It seems pretty straight forward, but the actual sensation of falling and getting caught before you get hurt really creates a bond of trust between team members.

·        Three legged race. This is more of a physical game and serves no porpoise than just pure fun. Of course teamwork is one of the basic aspects of this game, having to be tie one of your legs with one of your team-mate’s leg. Coordinating movements in this kind of team building game can spark synchronizing in the work place as well.

·        Multi-Way Tug-of-War. This is a very fun physical game. But besides the brute strength required there are certain characteristics of this game that makes it ideal for team-building. You have to have coordination, communication between the team-members and not least of all tactics so you can outmaneuver other teams.

·        What would you take with you on a deserted island? A team-building game that shows off each of the team member’s preferences, or resourcefulness. Many people answer that they will bring their favorite book or something like that, but some of them will be very practical and will take things that would help them get off the island.

·        Try to continue a story. In this game there is a referee that decides when another member of the team picks up the story. The game starts by making up a story of any kind. All the members of the team stand in a circle. When the referee gives the sign the next member has to continue where the last on left off. The game can continue until the referee says stop. This is an excellent game for developing creativity among members of a team.

·        Mine field. This is an excellent game for developing communication between team members. It can be played inside or outside and it consists of different objects being scattered on the floor. One member of the team is blindfold and the other one tries to guide him or her thru the mind field.

·        Mime. Avery fun game that can very quickly make people feel more at ease with their team mates. Communication, but this time non-verbal communication is the key objective of this team-building activity.

But never be afraid to try to make-up your own team-building games because who knows what you could come up with, that can be next great thing. Since the beginning of these team building activities the results have been spectacular. Now almost every big company has this kind of program especially for new employees. People find it much easier to connect with each other without the stress of the work place, in a more casual atmosphere. Of course a good leader participates in team building exercises, but will always try to keep a distance so that the degree of familiarity with the employees doesn’t exceed a certain level that isn’t productive for the work place.
