The leader of course has to be a role model for his employees, and most importantly of all, he has to earn the respect of everyone on his team. A good leader will be very open towards everyone on his team but he must also be careful to keep a certain distance, because he must be objective when it comes to judging the work of the team members. A fair and unbiased team leader will earn the respect of his team. After that he can work on making sure he fulfils everyone of his responsibilities. These include:
• Create a good working environment. This can be done by being very open with your team members, also try to make every team member trust you and each other. It is very important that you communicate a lot and that you encourage as much as possible communication between team members. Breaking the ice at first can be difficult but a good team leader will make everybody feel at ease in the team, will encourage creative thinking, which in turn will lead to a more interesting working environment, one in which everybody can feel like they really matter and that their contribution is appreciated.
• Provide the team with vision. You must be very clear about the project’s objectives, and what are the steps that need to be made to make the end result as good as possible.
