Why Are People Held In Captivity

The answer to that is given in the introductory part of the articles – the heart supremacy. The heart is a place very deep, with many dark and sharp corners; a place where all life issues are buried, and worst of all, it is the seat of iniquity. Everything you have ever done in life, good or bad stems from the heart, and according to the bible, all life issues begins from the heart. The reason why people fall into temptation that leads to bondage or captivity is because they are drawn by the desires of their heart. For example, take a typical example of a drug addicted teenager. The first time he was introduced into this awful habit, he must have resisted, then maybe after constant pressures from friends he fell into the act and eventually became a drug addict. What do you have to say about that? The fact is that he would never have fallen into the faces of captivity dilemma if he had no unconscious desire to smoke or drink. He may have nursed the feeling in his heart and the prodding of his friend became a trigger that pushed him over the edge – so to speak. This is a typical condition with people fighting one addictive condition on the other. Have you ever been in a condition where you have to choose between right or wrong with pressures from all sides; peers, family, colleagues etc? If you have then you will understand the dilemma of having to do the right thing which at that spur of the moment looks like the wrong thing to do and the wrong thing, seem like the right thing to do. This condition is caused by the heart. Your mind the seat of consciousness tells you the right thing, but your heart tells you the wrong thing, and because doing the right thing is harder than the wrong thing, the tendency is to fall into temptation. Enough about the cause and reasoning thing next is to list some of these different faces of captivity.

Consequences Of Living In Captivity

Superficial justice is a ruling given to addictive conditions humans found very difficult to overcome. Homosexual falls into this example. This is a sexual sin, so grievous that God due to this evil habit (combined with others) had to destroy a whole nation, wiping them out of the face of the earth (Sodom and Gomorrah). Also, in time past, the condition was highly frowned at, but as things becomes more and more advance, it is gradually or has completely gained grounds in the mind of the offenders and worst of all, marriages among the same sex is been practiced and promoted. The fact is sex between the same sex is hyper addictive, people who falls into it hardly come out of it and instead of stopping it, they agitate for justice; right to continue in captivity.

What is wrong is wrong, and what is right is right. No matter how truth is subdued it usually comes to light when one list expects it. As humans and higher animals, you are expected to control and master weaknesses and the way to do this is to accept that you are wrong, with this mind set, you will develop the power overtime to eventually overcome the problem and be free once and for all from these different faces of captivity.
