The Value Of Older Employees


Older employees are the asset of any organization. They are experienced and learned persons who has taken all the burden of the organization on their old but strong shoulders. People often think that young people are better at work as they have more memory and more enthusiasm to work than what older people have. But the truth is that young people are nothing without older employees. The value of older employees cannot be neglected in any case. We can make it out by these following points:

 

They are good at work- The value of older employees can be valued by their work. They are very good at work because they have immense experience which is making them different from each other. Their quality of work and the perfection in it cannot be compared by any other work.

They are much experienced- Experience comes from time. And time is a very valuable thing. Young people do not have time and they cannot focus in one point because of fierce competition in the market. Everyone wants to be ahead of others and that’s why they cannot gain experience.

They do not take the things in a light manner- Old employees are very mature and they do not take the things on a lighter note. Instead, they always try to complete the things in the most convincing manner before switching to any other topic or task. The value of older employees can be understood by their nature of responsiveness. They always like to complete their responsibilities and perform their duties. They take their own time but finish the task in more convincing manner than any young can do.

No innovation but definitely huge experience- It might be possible that they are not so good with innovation but they are good in implementation because they have the experience to turn talent into reality. They know about the resources and skills required to use those resources. They never let anyone down and this is all because of their valuable experience.

They help in creating a good atmosphere-The older employees are not only responsible in their professional life but also in their personal life. Being for so long in an organization, they build a strong bond between them and the organization. And it is not at all easy to break it. So, they consider the organization as a second home and helps in maintaining the environment of it. They get emotionally attached with the work environment in which they live.

Ethics and values keep integrated with them-Old generation is more inclined towards good values, ethics and responsibilities, whereas young generation is behind money. They can stake their values for money but it is very rare in older employees. They like to be loyal and keep all good values and ethics.

They are good evaluators- It is often seen that experience matters a lot and due to so much of experience, the value of older employees is already gone up. They become very good evaluators and they can make out the wrong things just by seeing it once.

They are an asset for the organization- Older employees are definitely an asset to the organization and they cannot be traced out easily. If they get a fair treatment then old employees are no lesser than any asset of the organization. The goodwill runs along with them.

They provide training by sharing their own experiences-Because they gain expertise in their work, they can be very helpful in providing assistance to their juniors. They can be a wonderful guide because they know all the probable situations and their remedies too. It is often easy for them to guide others because they themselves have gone through such difficulties which others are going to face.

 

The value of older employees cannot be underestimated at any point of time; they are definitely an asset to the organization. In today’s scenario, there is a trend of young generation but if we give a close look to economy then it is running because of the experience and proper guidance of the older employees. And that is why the value of older employees cannot be depreciated in any case.
