Things To Do For Christmas
Christmas will be soon upon us and everybody is looking for something to do. Of course there are the Christmassy things, like finding presents for your loved ones, decorating the Christmas tree, or baking cookies but why don’t you try something else this year, something more unusual, on the edge, like bungee-jumping or skydiving. You normally wouldn’t consider these as things to do for Christmas but where’s the fun if everybody does the same thing. Make this Christmas about you and try all the things you’ve been putting of. Stop finding pretexts for not doing the wildest things you can think of, things that you always dreamed you could do but never got around to, and make this Christmas one of the most spectacular times of the year.
So let’s start things of with what everybody associates Christmas with:
· Getting presents for your loved ones. This should be one of the most rewarding experiences of the year but it usually turns out to be very frustrating and time consuming. We always think we know what to get our loved ones but when it comes right down to it we are usually clueless. That’s why you should always pay attention when someone mentions what they would like and put it on a list, so you can make finding presents not a last minute nerve raking experience, but a rewarding and pleasurable event.
· Decorating the Christmas tree is one of those things that unites every family around the holydays. It’s definitely one of the most important things to do for Christmas, because having that experience of every member of the family participate in a common activity besides eating, is very rewarding. No one should miss out on this event, it’s what makes Christmas, Christmas and it brings families closer together.
· Baking cookies is one of those activities that is usually associated with the mother. In every family the mother is the person who takes care of the Christmas meal. And every family has there own particularities, one special kind of dish, or most likely one special kind of cookie that only the mother knows how to make, out of a special recipe that has been handed down in the family for generations. So why don’t you try this year to make the whole experience of baking cookies one that the whole family can get involved in. Don’t be afraid to get you’re hands in the dough, and help out wherever you can, although mothers usually have a certain way of doing things and you’ll probably just get in the way, but don’t worry they’ll definitely appreciate the gesture.
· Going caroling is probably the highlight of everybody’s Christmas. It’s right up there with finding the presents under the tree on Christmas morning. This is a special time when you can go visit you’re friends, eat all their food and drink all their wine, and get away with it by singing a song. And you don’t even have to be very good at singing either, it’s almost expected that you make a mess out of it, considering the waste amounts of alcohol that have been consumed beforehand.
· Bungee-jumping. This is one of those things that everybody has to do once in their lives. It’s scary but it’s such an adrenaline rush, that you won’t regret you tried it. Of course this isn’t commonly associated with things to do for Christmas, but it’s also a thing that everybody puts of, and most likely never gets to do. So try this Christmas something new, and you won’t regret it.
· Skydiving. If you feel that you can go one step further than bungee-jumping, than this is the ultimate thrill. Jumping out of an airplane and freefalling for as long as a minute is probably something that few people get to experience in their lifetime, and what an experience it is. If you want to make it more festive get a Santa suite before the jump, and don’t forget to put on a lot of clothes cause it can get chilly up there.
· Go ice skating with your friends and family. Not quite the same thrills as skydiving, but definitely an activity that can be a lot of fun no matter if you are a beginner or a pro, and something for everybody of all ages to enjoy.
If this Christmas you want to try something new, don’t be afraid and just do it. You always put things aside because it’s Christmas and there are other things that need to be done, but this year take some time for your self and do the wildest things you always wanted to but never got around to. Of course this doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t do the usual Christmas stuff but if you’re looking for other things to do for Christmas trust your instincts and make it happen, whatever it is.
