1. Prioritize. Of the time management activities, this one is the most important. You have to pick 5 objectives you want to accomplish with the greatest urgency. For instance, I want to learn French, learn how to edit photos and movies, go swimming three times a week, read one novel a week and work on my dissertation. Therefore, any other activity is inconsequential and I should focus on these 5 for 80% of my free time. 2. Start an activities log. Very tightly connected to the previous point, comes the next challenge. But as much as you can control it, try to stick to the basic needs and the main goals you have set for yourself. Also, in setting them, try to include activities that will help you grow, activities that you have to sustain for a period of at least three months.
3. Solve a hypothetical problem. Take a step back from your actual hectic lifestyle. Try to solve a quiz that gives you a bunch of different activities and asks you to fit them all in a day’s schedule. They will be urgent activities, some fix, others flexible, some important and other trivial and you will have to organize that day so that everything is done at the moment it needs to be. If you can solve this abstract quest, you will be able to observe the contrast this makes with your real problems and think that if you managed to solve this, you should apply the knowledge to real life situations.

Leave to yourself the specialized tasks which are yours and help you expand your knowledge and pass on those robot jobs which anyone else can do.
7. Do not postpone. According to the importance and the level of complexity of the assignment, try not to bury the real demands at the back of casual demands. In any area of your life, postponing just takes you further away from the purpose and makes it harder to get back in the game.
