Healthy living is an all encompassing concept; food and health, habits, attitude, relationships etc. There are really no limits on the number of tips on healthy living that we hear about, but they mostly refer to food and culinary habits. A healthy living habit is the window to a fruitful life that all of us aim the most in our life.

 

A healthy body and a sound mind makes great characters, and what we partake determines to a large extent our health later during our life. So maintaining a healthy life style is all that important. There are some time tested tips on healthy living which hopefully should benefit every one of us. Although not exhaustive, the tips that follow on healthy living nevertheless are useful and you too can benefit if you follow them judiciously.

 

·        Try to exercise regularly. There can be nothing more beneficial than exercising at least an hour a day. It can be anything, but the most preferred are the aerobic exercises like jogging and weight training. It will help you keep away the excess fats that many are prone to accumulate. Body fat makes individuals sluggish and is the cause for many diseases in humans.

·        Try to build up a healthy food habit. Food high on fat is difficult to digest especially if you are a sedentary person working at your desk all day long with little options to move around. The dietary fat in our food simply accumulate in our body, and can possibly invite disease like diabetes and hypertension that are the cause for most disorders in humans.

·        Include plenty of vegetables and fresh fruits in your diet, preferably organically raised. Vegetable are best if cooked just to the optimum extent. Over cooked vegetables lose their nutrient value. So the next time you cook, make sure you are using the best practice for a particular vegetable. Vegetables like carrot, onion and beans are palatable even while they are raw and should be included daily if possible.

·        Do not keep yourself up late into night. The human body is just not designed to work that way; attentiveness and efficiency tend to drop the following day. Your body works best for you in bright natural light and you will need enough of it to maintain a pair of healthy eyes all through your life. Ensure that you get at least 8 hours of quality sleep, and you will see the difference it makes the next day.

·        Salt in food is essential but in right quantities. So be on the right side and avoid excess salt in food; they will abet hypertension and diabetes, both of which collectively can cripple your life style noticeable. There are many substitutes for sodium salts that you can procure across the counter in a drug shop or provision store. Try using one of them if you have information, or you can ask your doctor for advice. Almost all naturally occurring edible vegetables have some salt them, which please make note.

·        Avoid coffee and tea if you can or use them sparingly if at all you must. Coffee and tea are both known to increase the metabolic rate of your body considerably, which in itself can be beneficial only if used prudently. Otherwise the caffeine they contain gets you into the habit of addiction. A couple of cups a day is beneficial but do not use it to keep awake all through the night, especially coffee. Studies indicate that coffee can cause heart attacks in some individuals. Why take them when all tips on healthy living are against their indiscriminate use?

·        Crash diets don’t work at all and is one of the most important tips on healthy living. Your body needs energy all the while; even while you sleep, to keep your body organs functioning and the principal source is the carbohydrate part of your food. Lesser carbohydrate means fewer calories available, which in turn means you can do little exercise. If you don’t include enough exercise you don’t let your body build the muscles and unwittingly you let the fat percentage increase. Higher fat component in your body is harmful and in most cases are the prime driver for heart attacks and diabetes. The secret of preventing this health hazards is a balanced diet containing enough of fat, protein and carbohydrate.

·        Visit your family doctor on a regular basis and have a check up at periodical intervals. Many diseases do not show up until it is too late to remedy easily. Ask your doctor to conduct a master check up so that you are not taken by surprise. Some disorders can seemingly be very simple and you may not know from the symptoms either.
