This means that the best man has to receive for example the fee of the minister beforehand from the groom and after the ceremony is done discreetly hand it to the minister. Everybody’s eyes will be on the groom all the time, so it would be in bad taste for the groom to pay the minister himself with everybody watching, so this becomes a very important duty of the best man.
2. Another of the very important best man responsibilities involves making sure that the child who is the ring bearer understands everything he or she is supposed to do. If there is no ring bearer, than he just has to make sure that he has the ring safely in his pocket at all times during the ceremony until the woes are read.
3. The best man has to be the groom’s memory. He has to make sure that the groom has his marriage license with him before the ceremony. The groom will generally be very nervous before the ceremony so he depends on the best man to keep a cool head and supervise everything that needs to be done. This involves making reservations at hotels, getting plane, bus, or train tickets, and last but not least helping the groom pack for the trip. As well he has to make sure that the groom has all the appropriate documentation for the trip and all the reservations and tickets with him on his departure.
5. Probably the most important of the best man responsibilities is helping the groom get ready for the ceremony. This when a best man becomes very important. Some grooms can’t handle the pressure and will sometimes have doubts in the hours before the ceremony. A best man must be able to help the groom relax and give him confidence. The best man also has to help the groom get dressed for the wedding and make sure the groom looks perfect.
