The above topic is an echo of King David’s wondrous declaration to God’s preference of man above other creatures. Man was not the only thing created by the creator others like: waters, animals, all manner of living and non living things where created before man but he (man) though created last, was given the liberty to name all other creatures, control and dominate them and created according to the likeness of God. Indeed what is it about man! Why was the lion, or other living and non living things apart from man not made to control and dominate God’s creation including man? Ever wondered why? Well, considering the fact that not everyone believe in this assertion about the creation of the world, no thanks to evolution, scientific reasoning and others. But increasingly the theories against theological belief of the origin of creation are for obvious reasons receiving fewer acceptances. So for those who believe they are descendant of apes, fish, goats, cats, erratic explosions and so on, your indulgence is humbly craved in this article because the discussion here will be based on the origin of life (living and non living things including man) according to theological concepts. That said, without much ado, what is it about man, why did mankind receive great mandate and not other animals and the consequences are up for discussion.

What Is Man

When King David made the statement he was in a wondrous mood, obviously he had been thinking abut the wonders of creation, how vast it was; immensely beautiful, and how it is that amongst these great creation man was given preference over it. Apart from taking control of the earth, during creation, God made a statement, “let’s create man in ‘our’ own image”. Meaning that humans are created as the image of God; superior intelligence, abilities, beauty beyond comprehension, free willed complete with soul, spirit and body. Wao! What a great honor, you will at this juncture agree that certainly what is it about man? Do you know that man was created to be a little lower than the angels? Yes it is a fact, do you doubt it? Look around you what do you see? Invention, advancement, out of the world technologies (more to come), internet technology, communication breakthroughs, aviation; object flying in the air, electricity, etc. What does this tell you? Animals who are also created been tamed by another creation – man, how do you explain the ability to capture wild animals, no matter how dangerous and fierce they are, captured and use for human’s joy and desires. Or the fact that you can eat other animals like chickens, fish, etc without much trouble, but when a human been is killed by these animals attention is drawn why? Why are lower animals leaving in the wilds, and not humans?

All these goes to show that truly a superior being created you and did not leave it at that, God breathe life into humans, gave you and not lions, flowers, dogs, sun, moon, oceans etc the power of choice. Imagine what will be the outcome if waters where to have a choice, the sun, moon, stars too, yes you imagined right, the sun can decide not to shine for as long as 10 years, rain will fall anytime it wishes, and so forth. God been a master planner, decided to elect a leader (man) to foresee other creations and that my dear is a wondrous thing and indeed what is it about man!

Why Man

Yes, you are probably tired of wondering about this for too long, why man and not other creatures, aren’t they beautiful enough deserving of all the endowment invested on man that made in what he is? The reason is this, God is a master planner that is behind the act of creation there was a motive, first in Genesis, the earth was in existence but it was formless, ugly, and dark. God been who he is, hated the condition of the earth and went ahead to create it. Firstly the world was furnished with everything that has life, and lifeless thing like the firmament, oceans etc purposely for man to head, enjoy and dominate. Further in the book of genesis, the major purpose of man was establish, it was recorded that after Adam was created, God come down to communicate with him and in other words one can thus declare that man was created basically as a companion to God; to fellowship, discuss, plan, worship Him. This intent hasn’t changed today, people in different works of life worship God, serve and communicate with Him in different ways through prayers.

This shows that truly there is really something about man, what is it about man indeed. With the consequences of mankind listed above, it goes to show that truly David was right, man was made to be very powerful. So if you are not leaving the way you are originally meant to, it is because you where ignorant. Now you know why you are so special, start living it and be what God wants you to be.
