What Men Think About Women

It’s difficult to say what men think about women, because it’s hard to give a general rule, everybody has his own opinion. Mostly, it depends on their past experiences with women, so their opinion can be radically different.  But some general stereotypes, and there is a reason why they became clichés, can be easily identified. From negatives such as irrationality, or being hysteric, to positives such as sensitivity and the empathy they are capable of, men fall in and out of love with women all the time, but the one thing they can all agree on is the fact that they can’t live without them.

Mothers, daughters, grandmothers, sisters, girlfriends, what do they all have in common and what is it about all women that give them the power to make men do whatever they want, and what do men think about all that?

·        Men think that women are hysterical. Even though this was considered in the past as a real medical disorder, now it’s just used as a synonym for women who get easily irritated, who shout a lot, and who generally   aren’t easy to be around of.  Men consider almost all women of being hysterical so they tend to treat them with gloves, trying to protect them from words that might upset them.

·        Men think that women are caring.  This definitely has something to do with the mother instinct that every woman has. Every man craves for a mother figure in their life, someone to take care of them and help them when they are in trouble. It isn’t hard to understand what men think about women, when you take into consideration that nothing compares to a mother’s love

·        Women are irrational sometimes, or at least this is what men think about women. When women are under a lot of stress or when they start to spiral out of control when faced with a problem that they can’t solve, they tend to get irrational. In their heads everything makes sense but following the logic that made them say what they said, you will get nowhere.  Rigorous mathematical logic shouldn’t always be applied to a woman’s thoughts because in some cases they just don’t work like that.

·        Women are emphatic. Empathy is the ability to put yourself in other people’s shoes, to feel someone else’s pain. Men appear to be more self-centered than women, hence their diminished capability of perceiving other people’s feelings. In a recent study a little girl actress was left on the side of the street, appearing to be abandoned.  Out of ninety four people who stopped to ask the girl what was the matter only two were men, and one of them was with his girlfriend. This is one of the first scientific proofs that women are better equipped for being emphatic.

·        Men think that women are sensitive. Women seem to be much more sensitive than men, in the way they act towards other people, and even in the things they like. Men like to watch fast cars, football, and all sorts of rough sports, as opposed to women who prefer things like ballet, dancing or gymnastics, and ice skating. Things that make use of qualities like grace and poise are specific to women, as opposed to strength and determination that are specific to man., This sensitivity is one of the reasons, why man think that women are fragile.

·        Women are needy, or at least this is what men think of them. Women crave attention, and they will do anything to get it. Sometimes they behave like little children but it’s mainly because of their need for affection. Men don’t always understand that women are so affectionate because that’s how they express their love, and see this as a sign of weakness and fragility.

·        Men think that women are bad drivers. This one of the most widely heard stereotypes about women. Of course there are some exceptions, there have been great female racing drivers, but they just confirm the general rule. Anytime you see a car parked diagonally on two parking spaces it almost always turns out that the driver is a woman.  And it’s highly unlikely that a car would bump into yours while the driver was putting on lipstick looking in the rear view mirror, unless that driver was a woman.

What men think about women is a very tricky question. The answers above are just a part of the many possible, but they represent many of the most common stereotypes that men associate with women. Even though men consider women as week fragile, and always in need of attention, without their care and love, they would be powerless.
