The world is divided into two kinds of people, the one who wait for the opportunities to come to them and the other who grabs them from their environment. For the former one has to be very lucky to get successful in life. It can be a stroke of luck that work their way that they seems to get right things at the right time. Talk to these people and they would say success just happened to them. On other hand if you are not lucky then your story would depend upon how efficiently you take up opportunities that are thrown on you. Yes, there are opportunities everywhere and saying that I did not get any opportunity is bit different than saying I did not get the right opportunity matching my caliber. Either ways an eye to discern an event from an opportunity is what makes us winner or loser in the game of life.

 

Sometimes we do things that don’t seem to be an opportunity at first but if you dwell in future they do represent a promising action. Take example of blogging, some writers loved to write but they never knew that their blog would provide them enough income/money to take their hobby full time. There are business, job, employment, volunteer ,home based, international, overseas, work at home, online, cost, freelance, writing, money making, small business, internet business, investment, making money, teaching etc opportunities floating around that the list is just unending. But problem is that people either don’t see it or are too lazy to grab it. What we do in past that makes our future better is something that sums up opportunity. But how many people understand this analogy?

 

Let’s start with what actually is opportunity and how you should discern it from regular events in your life.

 

Most of the people around

1)     Are busy with their daily lives

2)     But they do want something that help them grow in life

3)     And almost no one has answer how they would be doing it for themselves

 

Again, these are the same people who

1)     Leave things to destiny

2)     Are biased towards what is good or bad thing as per their current status

3)     Are Risk Averse

 

Yes, they have reasons not to take risk in their lives

1)     Sometimes it does not suits their time

2)     Sometimes it does not suits their status

3)     Sometimes it does not suits their style

 

And even if it pass above test

1)     The idea gets dropped because they are lazy

2)     The idea gets dropped because they had no time

3)     The idea gets dropped because they are not ready to work hard.

 

All of above gets repeated over and over again in their lives and their brain become so much attuned to rejecting things that they

1)     Losses touch with reality

2)     Fails to see them with time

3)     Even if they see they are quick to ignore.

 

Result=No growth

 

You stay where you are today.

 

Situation would become little different if they start to look deep into the opportunity cost a particular event throws in front of them.

 

This is how they can actually tell is the event is an opportunity for them or not

 

And One can do that

 

1)     By studying impact of event in their future

2)     By studying impact of event into their lives

3)     By studying impact of event into their livelihood

 

Yes, the procedure is simple

1)     Meet people and befriends with them. You never know when they can be of help to you. Can you asses that?

2)     You start small work and give regular time to it. Tomorrow it can be a big business. Can you asses that?

3)     You increase your skill by studying some course today. It can help you get series of promotion or high paying job. Can you see that growth today?

 

Ability to look into future and discerning the benefit that come to you is what separates the people who grab the opportunities in life from those who misses them all the time.

Yes, everything presents an Opportunity. They are opportunity knocks that happen from time to time.
