When The Rubber Meets The Road

22 September 2009 No Comment

Human Life is full of experiences, good or bad. Everyday we learn something which increases our knowledge on a particular subject or area. There are things which make us proud and feel good about ourselves while there are others which we don’t even want to remember. But finally what matters is the ultimate achievement of How Wise We Become from everything that we have learned from life.

Human Being has always remained hungry for recognition and appreciation based on his action or conduct. This behavior has not only made him scale new heights but also do stupendous blunders in this world. What we do or achieve today may not be relevant in the days to come. While learning is the essence of life there can be instances where we start to live with a fake feeling of accomplishment and relate ourselves to a scenario which has long become redundant. This is where the gap appears and people fail When the Rubber Meets the Road.

So what make you feel proud about yourself?

1)     Your Education Background

2)     Your Work Experience

3)     Your Recent Success

Good, And what you do to maintain the status

1)     You Learn everyday in job

2)     You work hard for more success

3)     You never leave anything to chance

Let’s get serious now. Because even if you do everything listed above then I beg to differ and want to show the mirror.

When The Rubber Meets The Road

It is fact that most of the people after achieving a goal in life

1)     Get complacent

2)     Start living in comfort zone

3)     Become risk averse by nature

While this is true, also they develop an attitude to

1)     Develop a fake sense of Supremacy based on their past achievements

2)     Believe they can achieve anything they want to like they have done in the past

3)     Give a cynical look to something which challenges them in life.

This is a recipe of disaster. Yes, this behavior leads to a false notion which hampers their growth

1)     They feel they know everything in job and would never take pain to learn more

2)     They feel that their health would remain same as in past and would never go for workout.

3)     They feel they know everything about their area of interest and no one can dare to teach them.

Look inside yourself

1)     How many times  you have not listened to a speaker or someone in TV just because you know everything

2)     How many times you don’t hear advice of your parents just because you know everything

3)     How many times you don’t learn from your senior just because you think they are dumb.

You can survive till the time you are lucky. But problem comes When the Rubber Meets The Road.

Continued Below.........

Such type of behavior show up in results when

1)     Your peers get promoted earlier than you

2)     You start to suffer from lifestyle diseases

3)     You develop an attitude to escape from things in life rather than face them.

You boast about things and when ultimate day comes you just Fail

Past accomplishments are Past. It feels great to boast about them. What you do today is what that matters.

Your True Test comes when Rubber Meets the road. The results show up on your Face.

And the best way to pass the ultimate test is

1)     Never Fail to learn

2)     Always be receptive to change

3)     Practice what you learn

Become Hardcore.

Rely on your past to guide you, never let is boast about you. Let you Actions Prove your worth.

It is not what you are. It is what you do today define you.
