Why Do We Believe In God

Every religion preaches GOD and every body believes in god. God is that unseen entity with whom we take refuge in our bad times and good times (mostly bad times of course!!!). Sometimes people go in for an emotional attachment with god. This is all because we have faith in him; a faith that god helps in our bad times; a faith that god takes part in our good times and a faith that he is our caretaker. It is why we believe in god. But what makes us believe in this supernatural entity or divine one? The reasons are umpteen

Let us see some of them below, which throw a light on why do we believe in god:

· If we think keenly, where do human beings come from? Everybody knows it is due to fertilization of the embryo in the mother’s womb. But from where does the right temperature get to that embryo to fertilize? The heavenly unseen entity gives it. God gives the unmovable embryo, the energy to evolve into human, gives it limbs to rotate in the mother’s stomach and what not, he gives the tiny creature everything which is necessary, the intelligence to come out of mother’s womb, to see the world, to talk, to laugh, to cry what not!! He created those essential elements which are very necessary for human beings to survive. Among which are trees which give us fruits and vegetables, which give out necessary element to breathe (oxygen); water is another most important element for human beings. Well the existence of those things which are necessary for human beings and importantly the existence of human beings itself is based on the belief that God is the one who created everything.

· If we look at the universe and most importantly our solar system, earth is the only planet which is suitable for human beings to survive. It is neither too small like mercury nor too big like Jupiter. It has the right the proportions of gases and drinking water. Did we ever think that how at all this is possible? This is another reason why we believe in God.

· Sometimes we feel very deserted or lost and we badly feel that someone must come and help or else we cannot go through it. And suddenly we see a person coming to our help. It looks as though some force next door has listened to us. And then our problems are solved in split of a second. Then we think that our prayer is heard. That is why we believe in God.

· When we see a beautiful scene we tend to put a smile on our face. We feel happy from deep inside our heart. That very feeling makes us believe in God. Automatically we say “how wonderful is this world created by God?”

· Another reason why we believe in God is because that is the way we were taught by our ancestors who were taught by their ancestors; to believe in God. Believing in God gives a systematic and disciplined life style to human beings. It helps us to lead our life in an orderly way. People have a psychological fear that someone from above is watching them and will be punishing them severely when they do something bad just like parents punish their kids. The result is, they generally do not venture into it. Finally people are good to each other and world will be a better place to live.

Why we believe in God is a very deep question. Some say that they do not believe in God; they only believe in the work they do. Even that is also a form of belief in God. Those people are worshipping that work which gives them food, shelter and which gives them good name in the society. All the religions in this world preach the same thing. They have the same meaning. Idol worship is for those people who need some picture of God to fulfill their desire that God looks like this.

Every religion preaches that God takes the form of anything or anyone. Some times he comes down as Jesus Christ, sometimes as Rama or Krishna or Buddha telling the people to live in peace and follow the policy of “live and let live”. Why we believe in God is because if are left alone, non to take care of us, non to talk to us, we still have that divine unseen company which helps us to walk through our life. That unseen force is our caretaker, our mother, father our best friend.
