Why pH Levels Are Important For The Body

What are pH levels- The pH levels indicate the activity of the hydrogen ion in the body. If the pH level get imbalanced in the body, i.e., if it goes beneath a particular prescribed count, then high acidity occurs in the blood which results in the deterioration of the body in different ways. The advisable pH level in the blood is around 7.4. If it is between 6.8 and 7.5 then too it is considered normal, although it is preferable closer to 7.8. If it decreases beyond the minimal level, the blood becomes acidic and the ill effects of the imbalance of the pH levels start surfacing up. The important thing about pH levels is that it fluctuates throughout the day. You can maintain it by eating the right types of the foods that will tilt the pH levels towards being alkaline. Before eating the pH level should be 6.4 to 6.8 and after eating it should be at least 7.5

How to determine pH levels?

You can determine the pH levels of your body by using pH testing strips available at pharmaceutical shops. Another way can be by wetting the litmus paper with your saliva and knowing the result, acidic or alkaline.

Why pH Levels Are Important For Body?

1) Proper pH level strengthens the body and helps it to fight the diseases. It builds up better immunity. If the pH levels are imbalanced then the body is more prone to illnesses. Proper pH level helps the body in effectively functioning in various capacities. If the pH level goes below the prescribed limit then the body gets into deteriorating mode. The proper pH levels promote optimum health, discourage diseases and help the body’s ability to heal itself better.

2) The proper level of pH keeps body detoxified. If the proper level of pH is maintained in the blood then it neutralizes acid levels in the body and doesn’t let body store harmful waste in the body. It affects in another effective way to keep body healthy by making the body use nutrition to perform bodily functions.

3) Proper pH levels in the body help in increasing the cellular health. The body’s cells require good nutrition to perform necessary bodily functions. More acid levels tend to make the body retain harmful waste in the body. The pH levels when inclined towards alkaline neutralize the acids and release toxins. Without proper balance of pH levels the body is unable to assimilate vitamins, minerals and the food supplements properly. The proper level of pH promotes good health and well being.

4)Maintained pH levels increases blood flow, prevents cardio vascular problems. High acid levels in the body leads to the hardening of the arteries. This is the result of the loss of endurance which occurs due to acidity. The hardening of the arteries further results in strokes and heart attacks.

5) Imbalance of pH level leads to arthritis. A correct pH level in the blood protects bone density and prevents Osteoporosis. The imbalance of pH levels leads to acidosis. When acidosis occurs, i.e. high level of acidity occurs then the body tends to suck the bones and the soft tissues of the calcium and minerals. The result of this is osteoporosis and weakening of the bones.

6) The imbalance in the pH levels results in hair fall and hair loss. The natural oil in human hair, which is known as Sebum has a pH level of 5. This pH level of hair around 4.5 to 5.5 is considered ideal for hair to be healthy. When pH levels in the body gets imbalanced it affects the pH levels of hair too, causing hair loss, drying of hair making them brittle, rough and dull. The health of the hair however can be restored by using the right type of the hair products that includes your shampoo, the conditioner and gels. Each product you use has a pH level. The pH scale ranges from 1 to 14. The lower count indicates acidity, the higher indicates alkaline nature. 7 indicate neutral. With the pH testing strips, test your hair products. Take the average of the pH numbers of the products you use. Raise or lower the pH level of the hair accordingly by using Apple cider vinegar to lower the pH and to raise it add baking soda to it. The hair gets smoother and stronger when proper pH levels are maintained.

How can the pH levels of the body be maintained?

The best way to maintain the pH levels of the body is changing the diet to an appropriate one which will lessen the acidity of the body and increase the alkaline tendency in the blood. White sugars, white bread, canned fruits, acid forming foods should be shunned out totally from the diet. Alkalizing drops if added in water helps leveling the pH in the blood.
